I was hired to paint the house for someone who sold it after many many years living there. As I was painting and repainting it, I imagined all the stories behind it. Like did they design the stones on the ground themselves? Did they fight over the shapes and placement of them? Did they sit on the steps when it was all done and laugh about their silly little fights? I really don’t know anything about the owners of the house, but it was really fun to paint it and imagine things. It almost felt like I was reading a book.. only I was writing it too.
